In Love & Chocolate: A Fundraiser for Spooner House and the Mary A. Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund is taking place on Sunday, February 8 from 1:00-4:00pm. For $25 per person or $40 per couple, patrons will be able to sample chocolate creations from the best of Connecticut’s confectioners, sip on champagne, listen to live music and more. It’s a chocolate tasting party like you’ve never seen! It’s all to benefit two great causes. Tickets are available online!
In Love And Chocolate is an annual fundraising event held by The Mary A Schmecker Turtle Shell Fund and Spooner House. It is a chocolate fiesta just in time for Valentine’s Day!
Patrons pay an entry fee to attend, and may browse and sample freely from all the chocolate delicacies offered by our many exhibitors. Restaurants, candy companies, pastry shops and bakeries are just a few examples of the various types of exhibitors we will have at the event. There is a champagne toast for attendees over the age of 21, live music, and refreshments to round out the afternoon.
No, but you may take as many free samples as you can eat! We do not allow our exhibitors to sell their wares at the event. However you may make reservations or get promotional materials so that you may patronize any of our exhibitors’ businesses after the event. It’s a great way to get ideas for Valentine’s day!
The funds raised will be split evenly between Spooner House (a local charity that supports families and individuals in distress) and The MAS Turtle Shell Fund (Furthering creative arts education throughout our community). Both are federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organizations.
We will have plenty of parking available both at the hotel and across the street with shuttles to bring you to and from your car.
The list of exhibitors and sponsors who will be at In Love and Chocolate is available on our Exhibitors page

Unfortunately due to the wide variety of chocolate “stuff” we will have at our event we cannot guarantee that any of our exhibitors’ offerings will be allergen-free. We encourage you to inquire with exhibitors as to the contents of any of their chocolate samples.
